In 2002 London painted 50 of its double deck buses into Gold to celebrate the Golden Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II. Of these 50 only 13 were Routemasters. One of First's chosen vehicles was RML2405, seen here working its regular 23's route.

Following the end of its 12 months as a gold bus RML2405 was re-painted back into red. It was one of the vehicles operating on the last night of Routemaster operation on the 23's. It is seen here pulling around RT4421, which it joined in the Ensign Collection less than a year later.
